In the Bible, God asked Hosea to marry an harlot and have children with her. If she has repented from her old ways then it is ok.We should show love to them and accept them because no matter what we do, God accept them.I think it’s time for me to clear some of those misconceptions up.It’s true, of course, that not all Catholics today will wait till marriage.
But I really like him and want to be in a relationship with him.
But…I don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t believe in pre-marital sex! I keep thinking that I can convince him, rationally, that the Catholic ban on pre-marital sex is a stupid, pointless anachronism that is not relevant to today’s world.
He’s intelligent and educated and responds to reason; I think I have a shot at changing his mind.
In addition to Hosea, consider the custom of levirate marriage.
If a married man dies childless, his brother was required, under the Law of Moses, to marry her as a surrogate for his brother.
